Private ChatGPT
Short answer: Obscurify.ai gives you OpenAI’s GPT models, plus Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek, Llama and 200+ others, behind an account that is only a random 16-digit number. No email, no phone number. Prompts and responses aren’t stored on our servers, and your identity is removed before a request reaches the model provider. You can try guest chat first with no account at all.
The reasons why users want a private version of ChatGPT vary. One person may not want a chat log to live on someone else’s server forever. Another may not want their prompts associated with an email address, phone number and payment card. A third may have asked questions about health, finance, legal problems or relationships, and not want the queries linked back to themselves.
If you use ChatGPT directly, OpenAI will know you’re the one asking and will apply their retention policies. Obscurify.ai is a proxy in the middle: OpenAI’s models respond, but they won’t know who’s asking.
How it works
- No identity at sign-up. An account is a random 16-digit number, like a Mullvad VPN account. There’s no email, username, password, phone number or ID. Only a keyed hash of the number is stored.
- Identity removed before the provider. Requests reach the model provider without anything that identifies you. The provider sees the text of the prompt, because it has to answer it, but not who sent it.
- Zero-data-retention routes. Text requests only use zero-data-retention routes. These rely on the providers’ published policies; there are no signed agreements.
- Nothing stored on our side. Prompts and responses are not stored on Obscurify.ai’s servers. Your chat history lives in your browser.
- Payments we can’t trace to your account. Every payment becomes blind-signed vouchers, so Obscurify.ai can’t tell which payment funded which account.

You can start without paying anything. Guest chat is free with Llama 3.3 70b Instruct, up to 30 messages an hour. New accounts get $1 of starter credit.

What Obscurify.ai does keep
It’s more important to be correct than to be polished. Obscurify.ai stores IP addresses and user agents solely to prevent abuse, and they’re deleted after 30 days. Billing records contain the account, the model used, token counts, cost and time. They don’t contain the content of your messages.
The payment will still be visible to anyone handling it: the card to Stripe and the transaction to the blockchain. Blind vouchers keep that payment from getting linked to your account, though an unusual amount added all at once might still be matched by amount and time.

Using GPT models from code
The same account works with the OpenAI-compatible API. Point any OpenAI SDK at the base URL https://obscurify.ai/v1 and use your Obscurify.ai API key. The API works on every plan with a positive balance, at the same prices as the chat. See the API docs and the OpenAI SDK tutorial.
Common questions
Is this the real ChatGPT?
That would be OpenAI’s GPT models, accessed via Obscurify.ai and not through chatgpt.com. You won’t have ChatGPT’s app features, but the models will answer your prompts the same way.
Does OpenAI know it’s me?
No. We strip out your identity before sending the request to the provider. They will see the text of your prompt, so do not include anything identifying if you don’t want it seen.
Do I need an email or phone number?
No. Guest chat needs nothing, and an account is a randomly generated account number.
Can I pay without a card?
Yes. You can top-up using Monero, Bitcoin on-chain or Lightning through Obscurify.ai’s own BTCPay Server or with a card through Stripe without an email.
Are my chats stored?
Not on Obscurify.ai’s servers. Your history stays in your browser.
